What a fucking delay !

A bad news for the readers that TORRENT CUP (this is the name provided to the next upcoming GLA cricket tournament ,workplace of Pirates) which was scheduled to be held from 21st feb 2007 has been postponed to 12th march 2007 due to the international confrence in the college.
Though this time pirates are not in a easy group.Their first match is with EUTOPIANS, an less known team from final year Electronics which suddenly become famous after winning a close match against the Pirates of KOSI.This time too Pirates are expected to win this renowed tournament.

Pirates started their practice soon after the announcement of Tournament TORRENT CUP . Though it was very late but weather conditions also play an important role in the dealy of practice.


This time pirate squad has gone through some changes. Our NPC is no more a NPC. Our squad is


1:Ajeet the pirate : A body builder having highly masculine shoulders ,which help him in deliveringthe fire while bowling and these shoulders along with the power generated by the whole body allowhim to fuck the rival bowlers and hit great sixes while batting.A strike bowler and a middle orderbatsman.
Overall this mechanical engg. is a complete package and is going to be a great pirate.

2:Amrit the pirate:He is One of the sexiest figure our team ever had. He is as thin as a stump as tall as me. He believes in fucking the rival teams bowling in slog overs and prefers to bat in loewr-middle order.
In bowling he has few trademark balls ( protected by several patent laws) like he is going to ball a full tossball if it the first ball of his spell(over) but when he is in gear(it takes a warm up of at least 20 minutes) he looses his trademark and he is on fire then.

He claimed few important wickets and one fabulous catch last semester. He also got an wicket against Eutopians on his trademark ball caught by me on the point region.

3:Bipin the pirate: This guy is doing his debut with pirates. He is from Electrical and electronics engg.2nd year.He too is an allrounder. He is our opener and a strike bowler as well.

He is expected to do a damaging action to the rivals in the begining of each innings. Dont go on his body shape, he is a great fileder too. A great entertainer for the GLA people.

4:Deepak the pirate: This pirate has emarged as a good option in bowling as well as in batting too during the last practice session but a shoulder injury made him incapable of bowling. Though only batting was able to secure his place in team. He is a great hitter of the ball and can bring out few more extra runs during slog overs.


5:Digambar the pirate: Third mechnaical engg in action.This all rounder from second year B.tech had a good tournament last time.he batted as an anchor and make important runs.This time he is brought back as an 2nd down batsman and as an medium pace bowling attack.

6:Jay the pirate:Well its me. I am a link in the chain of allrounders that this Pirate team is having. Last semester was not good for me in batting but in bowling in took 8 (3+5) wickets in 2 matches. (this include a 5 wicket performance too).This time i concentrate lot on my batting skills with the help of our coach OMANN the pirate.Our another coach Vishal the pirate who had visited MRF pace foundation in south India this winter help me a lot in bowling.So i am eagrly waiting for the tournament.


7:Lokesh the pirate: He was termed as NPC last time but now he has decided to play for the sake of his team.A cool hunk from IT IV year last semester.So GLA guys and pirate fans across the globe are definately eagrly waiting for his action. He is working hard so that he can make his fans cheear up. He has visited few important grounds across the town along with few team mates and all three coaches. So this is going to improove a lot. Good news for his fans.

Presently he has shown intrest in reshaping the lower middle order fo the team which was the reason of early departureof pirate team from the tournament.

8:Nitin garg the pirate:Our wicketkeeper who works as a patch for several weak areas of the team. He has few important catches under his belt. Performed well during crucial time in last tournament.This is going to be his last tournament so fans can expext a great knock from him.

9:Nitin varshney the pirate: A fire from computer science & engg. 3rd year. A great middle order batsman.He has a record of scoring 4 fours in an over at the time of his debut against the title winning team. Officially he is becoming pirate for the first time but unofficially he has acquired all the characterstics of pirates long ago .

10:Sachin the pirate:A former allrounder who has informed the team officials that this time he will not be able to providehis bowling services to the team which was eagrly waiting for his action for teams future plans.
Definately this is a shocking news for the Pirate team and it's fans as well.But he will be action by his batting. Sources revealed that this action from this pirate came a result of the pirate policy which believe in bringing the youth forward by clearing the roads for them.

11:Sehnad the pirate:No need to say about him. An arc from mechnical engg.Winner of a man of the match award.He has fifty under his belt, an opener and lot more. He is among the legacy of fielders who are never expected to drop (?) a catch or misfieled. An experienced palyer. His bat is always on fire what he need to do is control the flow of fire.

Our coaches:

1:Omann the pirate: He is working as a coach for the pirate team from the begining of the session. His presence is must during our matches and he also has a database of players and help in removing their flaws.During his playing career he was the trademark opener batsman of the team, capable of hitting sixes in a row irrespective of the bowlers name.His sharp analysis help me in removing errors from my batting an bowling.
He is presently working on improoving batting skills of key players.

2:Prem the pirate: Our batting coach, has the ability to hit strong and long sixes.the longest six that i have everseen belongs to this GLA alumni.He is presently in dehra dun working on Biomechnical and atmospheric effects ofhitting long sixes on body muscles.He was along with the team members when team visited nearby grounds for the teampractice.

3:Vishal the pirate:A great swing bowler, capable of inswing and outswing both on any pitch surface.He is presently in MRF pace foundation, south india.He informed the team about new techniques of learning from previous faults and fitness mantras during his recent visit to the college.
His previous record was excellent in case of bowling.He belives in targetting the key palyers of the rival team.He broke the back bone of rival team several times by his fire balls.
